Yipee!!

This is our last technology class. I am truly amazed by what I have learned in the past 11 weeks about technology. I don't think I would have ventured into the world of Blogs, Wikis, and Podcasts without this push. We actually Skyped with the author of our text. I haven't ventured into the world of Skyping yet, but I will.... Hopefully I can keep up with as many aspects of these technologies as I can without getting sucked in too far.

Good luck on the journey.

Pay attention!

The title is a hyperlink to a video I came across on Teachertube. It's long, but interesting. It is a good argument for using technolgy to engage our learners. I do wonder about funding for wider technology use in the classroom. We'll just have to wait and see.

Chapter 3

Blogging, and technology in general, will be a great tool for communicating with our students. When starting out with a class, it will be an important resource for parents and students to connect with the classrrom. As the academic year passes, I think that Blogging can become an integral part of the class discussion. By using podcasts to ask questions or explain concepts, and blogging to discuss these concepts, we can ensure that students are beginning to internalize what we are teaching.

If not for this class it would have been a long time before I thought about becoming more comfortable with these techniques. The book has helpful resources and links to explore.
